In this paper we focus on the experimental observation of the broadband dispersion relation of wedge waves using laser ultrasound technique. The dispersion spectra are measured for an extremely large bandwidth which has not been investigated before. It is found that within a characterized small-wave-number regime, the dispersion behavior is predicted with reasonable accuracy by McKenna’s thin-plate theory. Through a transition region towards large wave numbers, the dispersion spectra converge on the Rayleigh wave velocity of the wedge material.
