The electron temperature and the expansion velocity of the late stage of an laser-induced argon plasma in an argon gas-puff target was measured using a Langmuir probe. The typical electron temperature at a distance of 100 mm from the laser focal point was found to be less than 1.0 eV and the expansion velocity of the plasma was about 1600 m/s.
