Microporous aluminum with porosities of 0–50% and pore sizes of 20–50 μm was produced by the powder metallurgical technique, i.e., by mixing aluminum metal powders and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) powder at sintering temperatures of 913 K. The effects of particle size and fraction of space occupied by the particle and metal powder on the porosity, size of pores and mechanical properties of porous sintered specimens of aluminum were mainly investigated.
