The effect of the irradiated light wavelength on ignition voltage in quasi-DC operation of a fluorescent lamp under monochromatic light irradiation was examined experimentally. It was confirmed, for the first time, that only irradiated light wavelengths between 300 and 500 nm can cause the increase in ignition voltage that initiates discharge, and that the ignition voltages attain their maxima at wavelengths of around 370 to 380 nm.
