9月11日のテロで世界貿易センタービルや周辺の建物が被災したのを受けて，ニューヨークの構造技術者は応急被害診断を速やかに実施し，復旧活動に貢献した。自身も調査診断作業に参加したニューヨーク在住の高木次郎氏に，応急診断や解体・撤去の様子を報告してもらう。
