The antipolyelectrolyte effect of a terpolymer derived from 3-dimethyl (methacryloyloxyethyl) ammonium propane sulfonate, methoxy polyethyleneglycol methacrylate, and lauryl methacrylate has been studied. The presence of the terpolymer enhanced the solubility of 4-isopropyl-3-methylphenol (IPMP) in the saline solution. IPMP was found to be adsorbed more on cotton surface in a lower salt concentration than the saline solution, while it is desorbed more in a higher salt concentration.
