The needless release of pesticide does not only prevent it from sustaining its activity for a long period but also give rise to environmental pollution. As one method to dissolve this problem, the polymerization of pesticide was investigated.<BR>Thus, polysodium arsenate and its copolymer with sulfur were synthesized. Their anti-fouling properties were improved by containing 5 to 10 percent of sulfur.<BR>It was also noted that the pesticidic activity of polymers obtained by condensation of 1-hydroxy 2- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -4, 5-dimethylimidazole and phthalic acid decreased as the degree of polymerization (D. P.) of the polymer increased.<BR>Thus the low degree of polymerization like a teromer can be recomended for the D. P. of main chain degradable polymeric pesticides. It was also found that the following relationship between the amount of degradation of polymer (L) and the degradation period (t) of polysodium arsenate existed;<BR>t=1/k,log 1/1-√L<BR>but, L=(W0-W)/0 <BR>W0: Weight of polymer<BR>W : Weight of polymer after degradation for certain period (t)
