The adsorption isotherms of three kinds of poly- (methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) which differed in molecular weight on TiO2 (rutile) in benzene solutions were made. The relation between relative viscosity of rutile suspension dispersed in benzene solutions of PMMA and the calculated particle concentration was obtained. The relation was used to calculate the thickness of the adsorbed layer of PMMA by comparison with the relation between relative viscosity and particle concentration for rutile suspension in benzene solutions of stearic acid which had previously been measured as a calibration curve. The surface concentration was also calculated.<BR>The thickness of the adsorbed layer increased and the surface concentration decreased with the increase of molecular weight of PMMA. The mean radius of suspended rutile particle was measured in the use of the Wiegner tube. It decreased with the increase of molecular weight of PMMA.
