A case of immediate autotransplantation in a 7 year and 7 month old boy at the site of the fractured maxillary central incisor with a supernumerary tooth which appeared between the mandibular incisors is described. The transplanted tooth is still vitally attached in the socket,3 years after the operation. The principle of this immediate autotransplantation is to eliminate immunologically the so-called"altered-self".<BR>This idea could also be applied for the replantation of teeth. Clinically our procedure is so simple and effective that the important points of the operation were explained.
