Urinary protein in healthy cats was fractionated. Most of the total urinary protein was soluble (95%<), and was thought to be albumin on the basis of molecular weight. In addition to albumin, pro tein of 95 100 kDa, which may be Tamm-Horsfall glycoprotein (THP), was detected from urinary sediment precipitated by centrifugation. The protein resembling THP was limited to hydrochloric acid-insobluble fraction of the urinary sediment, and no specific proteins were detected from the hydrochloric acid-soluble fraction.
