The zeta potential and rheology of nanoparticulate titania stabilized with polyethylenimine (PEI) were investigated systematically. The adsorption behavior of PEI on titania powder indicated a high affinity adsorption of PEI at high pH value while a low affinity adsorption at low pH value, which is consistent with the viscosity behavior of the suspension. The stability of the suspensions was highly dependent on the suspensions pH and the amount of PEI addition, which is related to the dissociation and conformational state of the polymer.
