Water Footprint (WF) is an indicator of water use to discover the hidden link between consumption of a product and its associated water consumption. Using WF, it becomes possible to discuss water resource management across the boundary of nations, such as National Water Footprint (NWF), which looks at direct and indirect water consumed by inhabitants in a nation. This study presents that the NWF of Taiwan in 2004 is 65.6 billion m3 and 2,892 m3 per capita per year. Finally, National Water Footprint Intensity presented for whole 49 sectors shows small number of sectors (agricultural, fisheries, electricity, and city water) had significant higher intensity than others, thus own higher potentials in reduction of NWF of Taiwan.
