Single regression analyses and scattering field analyses (Streufeldanalysis) were performed on tensile strengh, Brinell hardness and tensile strengh/Brinell hardness ratio "m" of cast plain carbon Steel. The results were compared with those for spheroidal graphite cast iron previously determined. Signs of correlation coefficient for both properties of cast steel and cast iron are always the same even though their absolute values are considerably different. The Wu50% curve for spheroidal graphite cast iron is higher than that for cast steel by 4 to 7kgf/mm2. The Wu 50% curve for relationship between Brinell hardness and tensile strength of cast steel is highgr than that for spheroidal graphite cast iron by 7kgf/mm2. Elongation of cast steel is 1.6 to 2.0 times as high as that of spheroidal graphite cast iron. M of cast steel strongly depends on Brinell hardness. The higher the Brinell hardness is, the lower the m is. Cast steel and spheroidal graphite cast iron have mean m values 0.35 and 3.0 respectively.
