This study focuses on storm surge caused by 2009 Typhoon 18 around Magome River mouth through analysis of monitored images and applications of the numerical model. Monitored images capturing bore run-up in the river during storm surge were used for extraction of current velocity profiles based on PIV method. Numerical calculation was applied for analysis of long period wave observed by monitored images and bore was expressed by stepwise increase of water level on boundary condition. It was found through the analysis that run-up of storm surge around river mouth was characterized by the run-up of bores generated by long period wave in the storm surge. Numerical model based on phased water level expressed pulsatile flow around river mouth during storm surge.
