2012年KDIGOからAKI・CKDの新たなガイドラインが提唱された．RIFLE分類・AKIN分類を集約した新たなAKIの定義・分類が提唱され，CKDに関してもKDIGOのガイドラインに基づいて新たなステージ分類を提唱するCKD診療ガイド2012が日本腎臓学会から発表された．新たなガイドラインの概要と，AKI・CKDの新規バイオマーカーとしてL-FABP，NGAL等について概要を本文に記載する．
