EFFECT OF RUBBING-REFORMATION IN APPLICATION OF VARIOUS MOLTEN SLAG TO CONCRETE

This study was conducted to examine the applicability of a industrial-waste molten slag and two municipal-waste molten slag to concrete as fine aggregate and the effect of mutual-rubbing reformation of slags on the properties of concrete.<BR>From the test results, it was found that the shape improvement of molten slag by rubbing-reformation has decreased the unit quantities of water, and the use of molten slag decreased compressive strength of hardened concrete, but the compressive strength of hardened concrete was generally improved by rubbing-reformation. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the concrete using molten slag has almost the same durability as the concrete using only crushed sand.
