We report a patient with postoperative irritant contact dermatitis caused by bispectral index (BIS) sensor electrodes during surgery. The skin lesions resolved within 8 days of surgery on application of a dexamethasone-containing ointment. Erythematous skin lesions caused by the use of BIS sensor electrodes are rare. However, it should be noted that BIS sensor electrodes could induce these lesions.
