硬膜外麻酔の効果の発現, 麻酔の広がり, 持続時間は個々の患者によって異なることが知られている. 本稿では, 硬膜外腔の内視鏡, Epiduroscopeで得られた硬膜外腔構築の所見と硬膜外麻酔の広がりについて述べた. 結論として, 年齢, 脊柱部位, 妊娠, 硬膜外麻酔の既往歴の有無などによって硬膜外腔の構築は異なり, このような変化はいずれも硬膜外腔に投与された薬液の広がりに影響を及ぼす要因の一つになりうるといえる.
