The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of reconstruction of the anteromedial bundle alone of the anterior cruciate ligament, while retaining the posterolateral bundle, using bone-patellar tendon-bone between 2006 and 2007. Three male patients were followed up for 8 to 12 months (mean : 10.7 months) after surgery. The mean age was 24.7 years (range : 18 to 35 years). There were two complications : medial collateral ligament and medial meniscus injuries.The range of knee motion was full, and the Lachman, anterior drawer and pivot shift tests were negative in all patients. The KT-2000 side-to-side difference was -0.5mm (range : -1.5 to +0.5mm). The complications were improved. The reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament was clearly observed and showed good tension by magnetic resonance imaging in all patients.The authors think that reconstruction of the anteromedial bundle alone of the anterior cruciate ligament while retaining the posterolateral bundle using bone-patellar tendon-bone is a good procedure.
