The 1T-phase in the TaS2-IrS2 system is prepared in the temperature range from 800 °C to 1000 °C. The 1T-phase is stable in the composition range between 0% and 50% IrS2 at 1000 °C. This 1T-phase is the compound of a new concept of the "electron-excess-1T", judging from the number of valence electrons of the metal atoms.
