No case has, to our knowledge, been reported in the Japanese literature of FDG-PET findings for splenic inflammatory pseudotumor, which we report here with a review of the literature. A 38-year old woman admitted for a high fever and left omalgia was found in blood tests to have elevated CRP and soluble IL-2 receptor. Abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed a low-density mass with a clear margin in the spleen. FDG-PET showed high FDG accumulation in the spleen, with a standardized early-phase uptake of 4.0 and late-phase 4.1, necessitating splenectomy for a splenic tumor. The surgical specimen showed a mixed redbrown and whitish solid tumor 78mm×76mm with a clear margin. Histopathologically, it was diagnosed as splenic inflammatory pseudotumor.
