We have presented a series of reports referring to the particularity of dental employees. Here is a report dealing with HBV and HCV antibodies in dental technicians.<BR>The subjects were 40 male dental technicians, whose age distribution ranged from 22 to 62 (mean 40.7) years old and who had been practicing for 2 to 47 (mean 19.9) years.<BR>The assessment was performed using RPHA method for HBs antigen, EIA method for HBc antibody and PHA method for HCV antibody.<BR>The results showed HBc antibody in 15 testees (37.5 %) and HCV antibody in one (2.5 %) respectively. The evidence of dental technicians having more HBc antibody than common people did, as expected in view of their higher risk to be exposed to infectious sources, which is less than dentists, required the established sterilization method and thoroughgoing performance of it in the treatmentroom.
