5 cases of tumors diagnosed as Ameloblastoma, which had been preserved in good condition after resection, were examined histopathologically and radiologically.<BR>The results were as follows.<BR>1) The growth characteristics of these tumors were pathologically classified into two patterns, that is, expansive and invasive.<BR>2) Some of these tumors have a fibrous connective tissue capsule while the others do not.<BR>3) The growth characteristics of invasive type lack more of the fibrous capsule than those of the expansive type.<BR>4) The fibrous capsule thickness was about 1-20 μm.<BR>5) Radiologically, bone destruction adjacent to this tumor parenchyma was observed in less than 2.5 mm and extended near to the compact bone through cancellous bone.
