Clinical statistics on maxillary prosthesis.

Statistical analysis was made on 26 patients who had undergone treatment with maxillary prostheses at our clinic during about 9 years from November 1977 to December 1986.<BR>With regard to sex distribution of the patients, 15 were males and 11 were females. Regarding age distribution, about 80% of the patients were in the 6 th to 8 th decades.<BR>In regard to etiology of the maxillary defect, in about 90% of the patients the causes were surgical operations for malignant tumors.<BR>The mode of the prostheses indicated in about 60% of the patients was a type of hollow obturator.
