A case of gigantic schwannoma of the soft palate and pharynx.

Schwannoma is a relativery rare tumor and rises from Schwann cell of the peripheral nerve sheath.<BR>A case of schwannoma of the soft palate and pharynx is presented.<BR>A 73 year-old female complained of right soft palate swelling. The tumor was partialy removed following intraoral incision under general anesthesia. The tumor of soft palate region takes the form of the cyst and it developed in to the right plica pterygomandibularis and pharynx.<BR>The case was histologically diagnosed as schwannoma.<BR>The schwannoma of the soft palate is not common and the clinical features are discussed with review of the literature.
