• The effects of chitin synthesis inhibitors, diflubenzuron, chlorfluazuron and teflubenzuron were examined on adult survival of the horn faced bee, <I>Osmia cornifrons</I> Radoszkowski, an important polinator of apples by two methods; 1) directly spraying on the bees, and 2) rearing the bees with an apple leaf cluster sprayed with aqueous suspension. These three chemicals had no effect on adult survival. When nesting bees were sprayed with chlorfuluazuron or teflubenzuron, the percentages of cocoon formation in subsequent generation was not reduced indicating that these two chemicals did not inhibit larval growth of this polinator.
