• The life history of the onion stem borer, <I>Hydraecia reeingoliensis</I> URBAHN, recorded as a new pest of onion, was studied in the field during 1982 and 1983. The first or second instar larvae moved from grassy field edges into onion in late May, developed through six larval instars, and pupated below the soil surface nearby a host plant in middle June. They emerged in late July in the laboratory condition.
