Neck rot of onions during the storage period was controlled by foliar application of thiophanate-methyl. <I>Botrytis allii</I> was isolated from most of the rotted onion bulbs and <I>B. byssoidea and B. squamosa</I> were found in about 10 % of the rotted bulbs in all. In this expriment, several thousand bulbs in a plot were examined in order to estimate the rate of disease incidence which commonly occurs at very small percentage, around 5%.
