This paper shows that body shape parameters compares to several data from the three native breeds of the swines; i.e., Ryukyu, Kise and Tokara in the Ryukyu islands, and Landrace breed. The principal components analysis is applied to the ratio between body measurements and chest girth.
The first principal component corresponded to the body height and length, the second one to the depth of the front quarter and the width of the hind one, and the third one to the depth of the front one and narrow of the hind one.
Therefore, present analysis indicates that Ryukyu swine has low withers and short body, Kise one deep body and narrow hip, and Landrace tall and long body with deep abdomen and wide hip.
