The diagnosis of fat deposition in hepatocytes was already reported in a previous paper. When qualitative data on the results of the general and simple clinical blood examination were given, the method of Quantification Model II was applied to them to make the diagnosis. When quantitative data on the results of the blood biochemical examination were given, the method of multiple discriminant analysis was applied to them to make the diagnosis. In the present studies qualitative data were converted into quantitative data by using the sample score obtained by discriminant analysis of Quantification Model II. It was the first purpose of the present studies to develop a diagnostic method of higher accuracy than the conventional one by analyzing the results of all the examinations collectively. Their second purpose was to make the diagnostic method developed applicable to the clinical practice, so that data collected from one time to another by sequential examinations might be used continually for the diagnosis.<BR>Four discriminant formulae were prepared by adding data obtained from the results of examination on some added items sequentially. Then, they were examined for the accuracy of diagnosis. Formula I was prepared by using the findings of 17 items of general examination and urinalysis. The rate of correct diagnosis by this formula was 69.2% in cattle examined and 53.3% in new individuals. Formula II was prepared by using the findings of 4 items of simple blood examination in addition to those of the 17 items mentioned above. The rate of correct diagnosis by this formula was 78.5% in cattle examined and 53.3% in new individuals. Formula III was prepared by adding T. Bil value to the sample score determinedby formula II. The rate of correct diagnosis by this formula was 77.9% in cattle examined and 60.0% in new individuals. Formula IV was prepared by adding GOT value to the data used for the preceding formulae. The rate of correct diagnosis by this formula was 79.5% in cattle examined and 64.4% in new individuals. In brief, when quantitative data were added to qualitative data in succession to make a final diagnosis collectively, the diagnosis finally made showed such high accuracy that the method resulting in this diagnosis might be applied to the clinical practice.
