In 2003 we made further improvements in Super-CCD, the CCD for DSCs using our exclusive technology. We developed the fine-resolution high-pixel number type CCD (HR) and a new-concept CCD (SR) incorporating high resolution technology in order to increase dynamic range. These constitute the fourth generation of the Super-CCD. Aiming for the expanding digital single lens reflex (SLR) market, we have developed an image capture element, Super-CCD SRII, with an entirely new pixel structure that achieves both high S/N ratio and outstanding optical properties, in order to improve our company's exclusive technology for the wide dynamic range image capture elementSR. Furthermore, we put it into practical use through the commercialization of FinePix S3PRO.
