This paper reviews the fission track dating method based on the spontaneous fission decay of <SUP>238</SUP>U. A damage zone (track) is formed by fissioning of a <SUP>238</SUP>U in minerals, and the number of tracks increases with time. Dating can be performed by measuring the track density and U content in minerals.
