Antireflection coatings are required in most optical application to reduce unwanted reflection at the surface of the lens. For this purpose single-layer coating of magnesium floride was used but it was effective only in reducing the reflectance of crown glass by 2 %. So we conducted some experiments on the triple-layer coatings. There are many possible types of triple-layer antireflection coatings. We prepared many kinds of coatings which consist of several material films by using an electron beam evaporator and discussed their optical characteristics. The construction with the best characteristics was crown glass +λ<SUB>0</SUB>/4 (ZrO<SUB>2</SUB>+CeF<SUB>3</SUB>) +λ<SUB>0</SUB>/2ZrO<SUB>2</SUB>+λ<SUB>0</SUB>/4MgF<SUB>2</SUB>.
