To investigate the effects of pregnancy and delivery on Sarcoidosis, we reviewed 43 female sarcoidosis patients who were observed at Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital during the past twenty years. We have observed the course of 9 pregnancies upon 3 cases, 8 led to the birth of healthy babies (one therapeutic abortion). There was no relapse during all pregnancies. In the 8 deliveries, exacerbation of sarcoidosis was noted in 3 deliveries 2 to 4 months after the delivery. These results suggest that patients who have or have had sarcoidosis should be checked carefully during pregnancy and after delivery.
