The burst digital correlator LDV signal processor (BDC) is evaluated theoretically using a statistical method, which calculates velocity information from the autocorrelation function of Doppler signals obtained by the chip-type digital correlator. The effects of parameters, that is, fringe number, trigger level, and number of correlated samples, on accuracy and validated rate of the BDC are examined for various values of SNR and the ratio of a sampling frequency to a Doppler frequency. The results show that the proper selection of these parameters enables the BDC to operate in a wide dynamic range.
