Study on Obsterical Application of Fetography and Amniography

Fetography allows clear pictures of the fetus and it enables sharp discrimination of the detailed regions of the fetal body. From such a view point, we have used the procedure with great success, not only in detecting external deformities of the fetus but in estimating fetal obesity from the thickness of its soft tissue for the purpose of obstetrical management in case of diabetes mellitus, polyhydramnios or as complication of myoma uteri. Furthermore, we developed the procedure to the prenatal detection of genetic anomalies and was succeeded in diagnosis Down's syndrome. Thus, we concluded fetography and amniography have wide clinical use in producing information of great clinical significance.
