The collection of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), such as benzo (a) pyrene (BaP), benzo (ghi) perylene (BghiP), benzo (b) fluoranthene (BbF) and benzo (k) fluoranthene (BkF), was investigated in terms of sampling times and methods. The sampling was performed for 1 hour using a β-ray monitor (β), and for 24 hours and 14 days using low-volume air samplers (LV) . When sampling time was long, the collected amounts of PAHs were decreased in the order of BaP, BghiP, BbF and BkF, especially in the summer season. The amounts were found to correlate negatively with ambient temperatures (r =-0.554--0.612 n=54) . These results suggest that the short time sampling using β is more recommendable than the long time sampling using LV.
