To improve the EMC quality of printed circuit boards, components placement is a significant process in the design. We develop EMC adequate design support system that executes automatic placement while controlling EMI from high-speed signal nets. This system derives net length restrictions for the high-speed signal nets by using electrical characteristics of signals and layer structure of the board. Then, novel algorithms"EMI balance placement"and"AI placement"give EMI-controlled components placement with keeping net length restrictions. Furthermore, it is shown that electromagnetic radiation noise from an experimental board designed by the system is suppressed significantly comparing to the board designed by a conventional method.
