Ion-exchange of Na+ ion in Na0.95Mo2O4 with a layered structure was attempted with proton, alkali and alkaline earth metal ions. The Na+ ion was ion-exchanged with Li+, K+, Rb+, Cs+ and Mg2+ ions to yield (A, Na, H) 0.95Mo2O4 ⋅nH2O (A=Li, K, Rb, Cs, Mg) . No Na+ ion was detected in the products ion-exchanged with Rb+ and Cs+ ions and Na+ ion remained in the case of ion-exchange with Li+, K+, H+ and Mg2+ ions. Ion-exchange with H+ yielded H0.92Na0.03Mo2O4⋅0.79H2O. In the case of Ca2+, Sr2+ and Ba2+ ions AMoO4 (A=Ca, Sr, Ba) was yielded during ionexchange reaction. All the ion-exchanged compounds exhibit semiconductive temperature dependence and the electric resistivity for the dehydrated H, K, Rb and Cs derivatives is smaller than that for the hydrated ones.
