Seven isolates of rice blast differentiated into seven races were mixed and cultured in the potato-sucrose medium containing, yeast extract. Each of them had been avirulent to indica cultivars. All of 29 monoconidial isolates from the mixed-culture was possessed of virulence to indica cultivars, of which 17isolates had the pathogenicity of race 337-b+, 11.had that of race 703 and one had that of race 503. Each isolate of race 337-b+ has a different pathogenicity to several indica cultivars with unidentified resistance genes.
