We observed exfoliated cells of Sarcoma Botryoides of the Vagina. In cytologic findings, we recognized marked cellular and nuclear atypism.Mcst of the tumor cells are isolated or separated. However, a small number of the tumor cells are crowded without cellular overlapping. Tumor cells tend to have spindle, tape, oval-shaped cytoplasma well stained by light-green.Cellular border is faintly defined. Nuclear shape is round or oval. Nuclear border is smooth but nuclear membrane is not thick. Nuclear chromatin is slightly increased and show fine granular pattern. Mcst of the tumor cells have one or two enlarged prominent nucleolus. We observed stripped nucleus, but not observed atypical mitosis, giant cells, multinucliated cells and mucous-secreating cells. In histologic findings, myxomatous change was characteristic. Therefore, it is difficult to decide whether malignant or not in case of tumorc ells showed myxomatous degeneration. In well preserved tumor cells, it is possible to diagnose Sarcoma Botryoides by recognizing the cellular and nuclear malignant featuers.
