Doped po1yacetylene forms a new class of conducting po1ymers in which the electrical conductivity can be systematically and continuous1y varied over a range of eleven orders of magnitude. Transports studies and far-infrared transmission measurements imp1y a metal-to-insu1ator transition at dopant concentrations near 1%.
