In 1842, Doctor M. Okamoto discussed the drift current in a polytropic ocean that the wind existed only on the finite domain.<BR>But his treatment in which <I>Sx</I>=<I>0</I> and <I>Sy</I>=<I>0</I> are used simultaneously as the contineo s conditions is not exact, because sea is not bounded by land, where <I>Sx</I> and <I>Sy</I> mean the total flow.<BR>So in the present paper, taking account of the term of the horizontal kinematic viscosity ν<SUB>x</SUB> ν<SUB>y</SUB> and that of the vertical kinematic viscosity ν<SUB>z</SUB>, the writer tried to obtain a complete analytical solution for the problem in a rotating canal.
