In November, 1985, 28 piglets (13 of group A and 15 of group B), approximately 60 days old, were purchased from two breeding farms and introduced into a fattening farm in Nagano Prefecture. After 2-3 days all the biglets of group A showed high fever and nervous symptoms, and 7 died within a few days.<BR>Two severely sick animals were examined. <I>Haemophilus parasuis</I> was purely isolated from main organs. Purultent fibrinous meningitis was observed in them thhistopathologically. The disease in question was diagnosed as <I>H. parsuis</I> infection associated with purulent brinous mentingitis.
