A 75-year old man had been suffering from pruritic eruptions for several years, which were resistant to corticosteroid therapy. Clinical findings were characterized by papules, plaques and pigmentation with cobble stone like appearance on the trunk and limbs sparing large folds. Blood eosinophils were evelated with the progress of the disease. Histological findings revealed acanthosis and spongiosis in the epidermis, and perivascular infiltration predominantly with lymphocytes in the upper dermis. No evidence was found for internal malignancy. PUVA therapy was commenced with the oral administration of 8-methoxypsoralen (30mg)and UVA irradiation (4J-6J/cm2). The eruptions disappeared almost completely after 33 treatments (177J/cm2 UVA in total). Thereafter, UVB-phototherapy (100-200mJ/cm2 per treatment) has been mainteined once or twice a week without recurrence.
