We report a patient of blue toe syndrome who developed a crisis after intracardiac catheter cystography. The patient was a 65-year-old male. Five days after intracardiac catheter cystography, suddenly intolerable pain appeared in the calf of both legs during treadmill exercise test. At the same time, the pallor of the skin of both feet, toes and digits accompanied with burning pain appeared. Eosinophilia and elevation of both BUN and creatinine were noted on blood examination. Histopathologically, cholesterin embolism of the vessels were found in the reticular dermis of the skin which was biopsied from the left toe. The condition of this case finally progressed to renal failure.
