Two patients with fixed drug eruptions from chlormezanone were reported : one was a 57-year-old woman, and another a 68-year-old woman. Clinical findings of the former was approximate to those of Stevens-Johnson's syndrome, and patch tests with 1%, 3% and 10% of chlormezanone in petrolatum were found to be negative. Oral administration of chlormezanone (10 mg in the case 1 and 20 mg in the case 2) was found to be positive, that is, the same eruptions were manifested at the same sites as old lesions. Nine cases of chlormezanone eruptions have been reported in Japan up to date, and eight out of them were female patients. Four of them were reported to be exanthematic eruptions, and the remainder were Stevens-Johnson's syndrome, two of which showed histological findings of toxic epidermal necrolysis (epidermal type of erythema multiforme). Our cases were considered to be the first confirmed cases of fixed chlormezanone eruptions in Japan.
