In the present study, in vitro fertilization of hamster eggs bymicroinjection of rabbit spermatozoa was investigated. The nucleiof frozen-thawed and lysophosphatidyl choline (LC)-treated rabbitspermatozoa were capable of developing into male pronuclei wheninjected into ovulated hamster eggs. When examined between 1and 4 hr after injection of spermatozoa in all experimentalgroups, male pronucleus formation was observed. In some eggs withmale and female pronuclei syngamy was seen.
