Biodegradable polymers must decompose promptly when dumped, though polymers are used with given properties throughout usage period. For this purpose, a three-layer laminated sheet was prepared; the inside of which was composed of polymer and bran and the outside of which was composed of pure polymer. Landfill, weatherability and water exposure tests were carried out using pure poly (butylene succinate) (PBS) and the three layer sheet. The order of decomposition rate was expressed as landfill test> weatherability test> water exposure test. The three layer laminated sheet generally decomposed promptly, though pure PBS was relatively stable for these three tests. Furthermore, the decomposition rate of the laminated sheet increased with the bran content of the inside layer. In other words, the effect of bran content on the decomposition rate of the sheet was very considerable.
