The heat distortion temperature (<I>T</I><SUB>c</SUB>) of a reclaimed soft poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC), which is lowerthan that of virgin PVC by 25-44°C, was improved by additives. Blending of 50 phr of carbon black, aluminium silicate or silica filler with a suprior oil absorptivity, increased the <I>T</I><SUB>c</SUB> of a reclaimed PVC materials by 45, 56 and 59°C, respectively, whereas blending of calcium carbonate filler having an inferior oil absorptivity was hardly effective for the improvement of <I>T</I><SUB>c</SUB>. The magnitude of the effect of fillers on the <I>T</I><SUB>c</SUB> increased as their oil absorptivities increased. A combined use of a crosslinking agent with an oil absorptive filler was still more effective to improve a <I>T</I><SUB>c</SUB>.
